Seemed clear there was a massive stink hanging around over the Diangana sale

That and playing Noble as a number 10

Is that how they spelled ‘poor’ years ago when that question was first asked?

The age old question.

How can we be so miserably poir at home to Newcastle yet a fortnight later dismantle a decent Wolves team?

To a man they all looked interested last night, long may it continue.

Fairly easy to be calm when you are three up in the second minute of added time and the oppo are just thinking about their shower. Well taken goal though, so that's not meant as a criticism, just a bit of context

It was a brilliant cross from Masuaku and Haller was so calm, made it look easy to head the ball precisely down into the far corner beyond the goalie. I don’t care what the doubters say about Haller he has it to be a great forward and I really hope he can do that with us.

I thought Haller showed a bit of attitude in not celebrating, kind of look at that you cunts, I can do it if you give me the chance. I thought he lost the demure when he caught Masuaku‘s eye and wanted to celebrate Masuaku’s part in the goal. I really hope Haller starts against Everton and smashes a few in.

but he must start getting assists and stop missing open goals!!

He has the best assists since the start of last season, Pablo Fornals has assisted more goals in the Premier League than any other player for West Ham (six).

I was going to mention that as well. Fornals at least looks like he wants to be there and to be fair he doesn't hide. He is one player I want to succeed because he looks like he wants to play for the Club but he must start getting assists and stop missing open goals!!

Haller rarely smiles when he scores but does celebrate quite a bit when somebody else scores for us. Probably styling it.

To be fair to Haller, he did start grinning once Rice came bouncing up to him. He just gave it some attitude first. Nothing wrong with that.

He was happy and so were his team mates.

Any idea why Bowen's goal celebration was about.

Also good to see Lanzini / Anderson celebrating when soucek scored.

Nothing to do with Wolves having an off day. We hit form and were far the better team. How it happened I don’t care. Bowen interview: he came across well and can tell he wants to be there.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
Take on board and enjoy Antonio whilst he’s with us. A quality and hard working player. Has an input every game he plays. Bossed the Wolves defence last night.

How he’s not been bought by another team by now I don’t know. He is fast becoming a West Ham cult figure.

What a ball by Masuaku last night for Haller. That miserable cunt didn’t even smile. Fuck him off and Anderson when possible. We don’t need these moody fuckers. Haller if you don’t like it then fuck off.

If Haller hasn’t learnt from Antonio’a effort and work rate then he’s thick.

enjoyed that and some thoroughly positive signs and performances

missed most of the second half tho as the-website-that-cannot-be-named failed spectacularily---did anyone else suffer or was it local to me

Well said Chim Chim, I find it sad that quite a few are now saying we won because Wolves had an off day! Why do they have to drag it down, make it not as good as it was? Too many pessimistic old cunts on here. There is good performances and potential in our side, why not look on the brights side for once?
It’s in our song. Nothing there about giving up and getting depressed like our arsehole owner.

Amazing what a good performance and thumping win makes.
Even though I called him a dinosaur this week, Wolves were under par clearly suffering from a shorter pre season than us and though I still think the type of football we play will only take us so far... Credit goes to Moyes for how hard working and organised we are.
Our form since the restart carrying over to the first few games of this season Newcastle apart has been good.
Happy for him to go on and prove me and the other doubters wrong now.
He seems a good fit for where we are now our expectations have been lowered by GSB.

Team is picking itself currently though I'd like to see Haller and Anderson used more.
We have a solid spine of Fab, Ogbonna, Rice? Soucek, Bowen & Antonio with Fornals creeping into that group too and could be even better played in the middle when needed, with Arthur and Fredericks well suited to the wingback roles.

Yarmalenko is perfect to replace a tiring or unavailable Bowen or as the 3rd choice Striker, but the squad is too imbalanced though.
For me Lanzini, Snodgrass and Wilshire are surplus. (Noble can't have much time left either but deserves a player / coaching role next season)

If we're sticking with the current formation as we should then we really only need another CB and a two footed fullback who likes to get forward.

Comma, hopefully enough of us old boys ( not sure if you are although maybe you're a young whippersnapper ;-) )

have not got too carried away.

Wolves are doing what many other teams have tried to do (including us definitely ) when the fans want more "entertaining"/"stylish"/"non-attrition" football. I work with a few Wolves fans and while they have been overjoyed with progress under Nuno they are into season 3 in the Premiership and want to progress from his "blueprint" of counter attacking football.

They have bought some expensive youngsters to try and do that apparently ( Silva last night 18 years old). Their aim is to break into the top 6.

We have seen most teams fail in this. Stoke were one example and us too when Pellegrini was brought in after BFS and Moyes to bring the "West Ham Way" ( well some will say our descent under him was just that). You generally need mega investment.

Anyway, they kept Dendonker on the bench in part for that reason. He is not the creative type. The irony of all this is we did to them what they usually do to us, Counter attacking game. Leicester won the league with it once. But fans accept it for a while until they plateau as a team like Wolves and everyone wants to be playing a more expansive game. We met them perhaps at the start of their attempt to change teh way they play but hat off to our lads as we were very effective at countering and tore them apart.

As always, my boring, verbose way of saying, I agree to an extent but that we were very good at counter attacking last night and with no investment in the team its teh best way for us to play now. Expect the demand for a more flamboyant manager to grow though once the ownership issues are less prominent. IMHO of course.

I know what you mean comma but WE made Wolves look shit. It was a performance full of energy and application. So unlike the Newcastle game where we plodded around looking unfit and uninterested.

Even after Arsenal last weekend last night's match was a bolt from the blue, a proper TEAM performance.

We didn't really mind being beaten by Arsenal because we ran our socks off. West Ham supporters have always been like that. The thing that has always fucked us off is having a team with no fight in it where we usually get beaten by a much less individually talented set of footballers who simply seem to want it more than us.

Lily Hammer 4:11 Mon Sep 28
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
Wolves have apparently changed their system this season and have not got used to it.

There may be some truth to that, as they were unrecognizable from the team who have looked so fluid and dangerous the last couple of seasons.

It’s also down to us playing so well, but last year’s Wolves would have given us a much harder game.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT - A Ratched
Don’t let’s delude ourselves over last night because Wolves were abject especially insofar as not making constructive use of their majority possession.
